The Open League offers a unique experience as a football (soccer) manager simulation, distinctly integrated with the Discord platform. It features several compelling aspects that enhance gameplay:
- Nightly Matches: Full 90-minute matches are simulated each night, providing play-by-play updates streamed directly in the Discord server, fostering community engagement.
- League Structure: Players manage their teams within servers comprising 30 teams divided into three leagues. The competition is fierce, as the top three teams earn promotion while the bottom three face relegation. Each season spans three weeks.
- Youth Camps: During the off-season, teams participate in youth camps aimed at scouting and recruiting potential star players. This weekend event is critical, as past successful campaigns have shaped enduring team legacies.
- Friendly Matches: Managers can organize friendly matches against others, utilizing the off-season to participate in tournaments that enhance team readiness and camaraderie.
- Player Management: At the conclusion of each season, managers retain their squads, with player development being a continuous aspect of gameplay. Strategic management is essential for building a successful team over time.
- Transfer Negotiations: Transfers are executed through negotiations between managers on Discord before formalizing agreements via the TOL application, rewarding astute dealmakers.
- Team Management Bots: The presence of helpful bots within Discord assists managers in various tasks, such as sending press releases about recent victories to other clubs through direct messaging.
The subscription model auto-renews unless canceled, with charges processed through the Apple iTunes account on a monthly or annual basis. Pricing varies by location, and subscription management options are available in account settings post-purchase. Please note that Family Sharing is not supported.
